Monday, November 18th, kick off the holiday horror season right with the 50th Anniversary of Black Christmas, presented by Screamfest NOLA and Timecode. Come on out to see Bob Clark’s ‘other’ holiday classic and watch as “Billy” causes havoc on an unsuspecting sorority and watch many first time horror tropes that would be borrowed for ages to come. This underappreciated horror classic spawned two attempts at remakes, but none came remotely close to capturing the dread created by the original. You can also stick around after the film for a virtual Q&A with Lynne Griffin, a Scream Queen with such film credits as Curtains, Strange Brew, the recent film Thanksgiving, and who you can seeing playing Clare in Black Christmas! Get your tickets now as space is limited, and join us as always for Trivia before the show presented by Horror Pack and Orleans Coffee.
Trivia! Prizes! Screams galore!
“As winter break begins, a group of sorority sisters, including Jess (Olivia Hussey) and the often inebriated Barb (Margot Kidder), begin to receive anonymous, lascivious phone calls. Initially, Barb eggs the caller on, but stops when he responds threateningly. Soon, Barb’s friend Clare (Lynne Griffin) goes missing from the sorority house, and a local adolescent girl is murdered, leading the girls to suspect a serial killer is on the loose. But no one realizes just how near the culprit is.
Starring Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder and John Saxon. “Inspired by the urban legend “The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs” and a series of murders that took place in the Westmount neighborhood of Montreal, Quebec.
Other upcoming Christmas horror includes GREMLINS with Zach Galligan in person on Dec 2nd at Broadside and SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT on December 16th at the Broad.
